That’s because he will be getting married to fiancee Emily Booth on Saturday, May 21 - the day before Halifax play Grimsby in the FA Trophy final.

Emily, 26, a critical care nurse and Kingsley, 24, have been together for two-and-a-half years and are getting married in Church Fenton in North Yorkshire.

Kingsley will be flying down from Leeds Bradford Airport the morning after the wedding, while the couple then fly off to South Africa for their honeymoon on the following Tuesday for 11 nights.

“We booked it in September, a few weeks after we got engaged, for May 21 thinking we would be done before then, and the FA Trophy is usually played before then but they’ve moved it this season.

“It’s going to be quite a small wedding. We’re having 60 for the day and then another 30 for the night do.

“There’s about 30 wedding guests travelling down on the Sunday in cars and on a minibus, then there’s another 20 or so other family members going down too.

“It’ll be the best weekend of my life even if we don’t win at Wembley - I’ll still be celebrating.”

Emily says she was laid-back about the wedding being so close to Kingsley’s big day at Wembley, and will be there to cheer him on at the national stadium.

“I wasn’t too bothered when I found out, I knew we would make it work,” she said.

“Obviously we had to have some conversations about how we would arrange things.

“I really don’t know the first thing about football, it doesn’t resonate with me. But I know how much it means to Kingsley and I really hope they win.

“It’ll give him a lift after being a bit down in the dumps after getting relegated.”
