What a fantastic weekend for Great Britain...our 77-year wait for Wimbledon men’s championship was finally over as Andy Murray fought a victorious battle in 30 degree heat to beat the world’s number one tennis player Novak Djokovic.

Calderdale wasn’t short of soaring temperatures either with highs of 25 degrees c over the weekend. The heatwave is expected to continue for the remainder of the week ahead.

If you’re still continuing the fun in the sun; please send in your pictures to newsdesk@halifaxcourier.co.uk or make us well jel with your summer snaps @hxcourier.

Today, will see a high of 24 degrees c and the rest of the week looks promising: Tuesday’s BBC forecast predicts highs of 26 degrees c; Wednesday, a little cooler but still not complaining at 20 degrees c; Thursday, let the sun shine with highs of 23 degrees c and Friday looks to be a glorious day with highs of 26 degrees c.

Those of us cooked up in an office Monday-Friday, 9-5 - fear not. For the weekend sunshine ahead is set to soar with Saturday and Sunday forecast with highs of 26 and 27 degrees c....roll on fun times in the sunshine. Enjoy.
