What did your family do for the Great War effort? Whether military or civilian, the Halifax Great War Heritage Society will help you research your wartime past.
As part of the Halifax Heritage Festival there will be a Great War Memorabilia Day at Bankfield Museum on September 12, and residents are encouraged to bring any photographs, diaries, postcards, trench art, uniform, medals or other artefacts relating to the First World War.
Enthusiasts from the Heritage Association say they will do their best to assess them and help you find further details about how your family might have contributed.
The artefacts will also be recorded by the society for future research on Calderdale’s war effort.
