A pensioner can once again get on his bike after police managed to reunite his with his vehicle.

The bike was stolen at around 5pm on Sunday, January 19, from a house just off Savile Park Street, Halifax. Police enquiries led them to an auction website where they located the stolen item.

Sgt Neil Taylor said: “Once we ‘found’ the bike (electronically at least), CID then managed recover the bike and reunite it with it’s owner.

“Our enquiries remain on going to trace whoever took the bike but it was very rewarding being able to return the bike to its owner who is an elderly gentleman.

“It also demonstrated how different departments worked together bring about a positive result.”

Witnesses can contact PC Sally Rutherford on 101.
