EVER wondered what the police helicopter is doing hovering over your neighbourhood?
Or, on freezing nights, has the c ouncil has sent its gritters out?
Now you can find out – via Twitter.
West Yorkshire Police’s air support unit and the council’s gritting team have both launched their own accounts on the online networking site.
The police Twitter account replaces the helicopter log which was on the force’s website.
John Whittaker, head of the air support unit, said: “The activity log is one of the most popular pages on our website, and by branching out onto Twitter we are hoping to reach more people who are interested in seeing how we police from the skies.”
You can follow the accounts by going to www.twitter.com/WYPHelicopter and www.twitter.com/CalderHighways.
