After a hard fought competition you have voted for Bank Top Fisheries to be crowned the Halifax Courier Chip Shop of the Year 2018.

The Ovenden shop was revealed as the most popular this year after also making it into the top three during our 2017 competition.

Owner Allison Chopping said: “We’re absolutely over the moon about it! Everyone’s over the moon.

“We would like to thank the people who voted for us and as a thank you everything will be 10 per cent off all next week.”

After two successful years in the annual competition, will Bank Top Fisheries be entering next year?

“We’re thinking about it,” said Allison. “We want to give someone else a chance to win.”

Mother Hubbard’s Fish and Chips in King Cross came second in the Courier Chip Shop of the Year 2018.

Ali Mahmood said: “I applaud staff and customers for their efforts and hopefully we can think about entering next year.”

New Lodge Fisheries in Savile Park was awarded third place.
