Woman hurt in handbag snatch in Huddersfield last night

A WOMAN suffered a head injury when she was mugged in Huddersfield last night.

The 69-year-old victim was on Lockwood Scar, near the junction with Barcroft Road, at 8.45pm when she was grabbed by one of two men who approached her from behind.

During a struggle for her handbag, the victim fell to the floor, suffering a head injury.

The suspects ran from the scene, taking the bag with them, heading towards Ridge Close and Lawton Street.

The victim was found by a passing member of the public and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary by ambulance where she was treated for minor head injuries but kept in overnight for observations.

The suspects were described as two white or Asian men of average build and wearing dark clothing and hats.
