Jade Marshall, 29, of Luddenden, will risk life and limb when she embarks on the mammoth ‘Mongol Rally’ challenge with her team.

The adventure will begin in the UK on Sunday July 19, before traversing thousands of miles through the mountains, deserts and steppe of Europe and Asia, with no backup, no support, and no set route - all in the name of charity.

And to tackle the punishing route, the Corsa, which has 132,000 miles on the clock, has been specially modified.

Jade, who works at Covea Insurance, Halifax, said: “The roads are horrendous, we could be hijacked, we could run out of petrol, we could break down, there’s quite a lot of things that could happen. I did a 5,000-mile rally last year and when you do something like that, you realise how boring your life is and you have to do something bigger and better. The team all love doing it and it’s just an adventure.”
