Woman’s purse stolen in Leeds Railway station

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are asking for the public’s help to identify two men who they believe worked together to steal a woman’s purse at Leeds railway station.

The purse, which contained £60 in cash, a number of cards and a driving license, was stolen just after 11.45am on Monday, August 4.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman from Keighley, was in the travel centre at Leeds station and had placed her wallet on the counter while she completed a form.

Police Constable David Smith, who is investigating the theft, said: “Two men approached the counter when one of the men grabbed the purse, and concealed it under his arm before quickly passing it to the other man. Both then left the travel centre separately and walked off into the station in different directions.

“We would like to identify and speak to the men in these photographs in connection with this incident. If you recognise them or know their current whereabouts please contact us.”
