Your donations to the #MakeItStop Courier and Community Foundation appeal really make a difference to people in our community.
The #MakeItStop appeal - established to tackle fuel poverty, loneliness and social isolation in communities across Calderdale - was launched with a cash injection of £25,000 from the Foundation which was boosted when CFFC announced it would match fund every donation made to the appeal.
Donations are used to fund winter warmer packs, blankets, boiler repairs, meals on wheels and lunch clubs, winter food parcels, energy bills and towards the cost of insulating homes for older people living in fuel poverty.
Chief executive officer of CFFC, Steve Duncan, said: “So far, £5,000 has been given by generous people in Calderdale but more funds are needed and all donations will be matched by the foundation and gift aid added - for every £10 donated, the appeal will receive £22.50.”
“Your donation really can make a huge difference to someone locally,” said Steve.
The CFFC works with Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees on a number of projects to help support older people across the region.
