A YOUNG photographer has been selected for a bursary from a major photographic company.
Joshua Wilkinson, 19, from Halifax, has been chosen by Fujifilm to pick up one of their student bursary awards for 2011.
He decided against going to university to gain experience in the industry at Skircoat Green-based Kyte Photography.
“I wanted a much more hands-on approach to learning over an intensive period rather than following the traditional three- year degree route,” said Joshua.
“I have also opened my own studio in Halifax and am now officially trading as Atlas Photography.”
Lynne Fletcher, Kyte studio manager, said: “We were delighted that Joshua was selected against competition from across the UK and has done well to be awarded this award from Fujifilm in the current economic climate.”
