YOUNGSTERS acted up a storm in lessons with a drama professional at Holy Trinity Primary School.

Julie Fountain, of Brighouse-based Exit 25 Theatre School, taught Year 5 pupils acting skills in a new drama project at the Halifax school. She will be helping Year 5 pupils every week, working up towards a production.

One class will perform Robin Hood and the other will peform a Greek myth.

It is hoped the children’s work will earn a certificate from LAMDA, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Teacher Sarah Cowling said: “They worked in groups, talking about how their bodies and language change in an argument, or just talking to a friend. We also did some freeze-framing and developed that into acting.

“The children really enjoy it.

“Even pupils who are quite quiet in class come out of their shell more.”
