The final of the first MBi Cup takes place at Spring Hall on Sunday after the tournament kicked-off at King Cross Park ARLFC.
The event saw four local under 10 rugby sides - Elland, Siddal, King Cross and Huddersfield St Joes - take to the field to compete for the cup and the chance to bag themselves a training night in pre-season with the Halifax RLFC first-team.
Executive committee member Andy Binns greeted the teams, along with Halifax RLFC’s Luke Ambler and Laura Bowen.
This weekend, the final starts at 1pm just before ‘Fax take on Championship leaders Leigh Centurions and is open for anybody to.
Both finalists are due to step on to the Shay pitch before this Sunday’s match, entering the field hand in hand with players from both teams.
Then at half-time they will join the other two teams in taking part in a lap of honour around the pitch.
Organisers hope the tournament will establish itself as a regular fuxture in the local sporting calendar over the coming years.
