A great place to play and relax

Crow Wood Park in Sowerby Bridge is a place for all ages to play and relax.

Over the last eight years many improvements have been achieved; the Bowling Green is now back to its former glory (including a new shelter and security fencing), thanks to the council gardeners, and we have three teams playing.

The Pavilion in the Park was our saving grace. Thanks to Rod Mellor opening it as a Youth Centre 2 nights a week and all nights during school holidays. We have a multi-gym, table tennis, pool, air hockey, television and training computers.

Also a kitchen for hot and cold drinks. It is staffed at all times, including fitness instructors. There are two tennis courts and basketball, petang pitch, skateboard area and a 5-aside football and two play areas, one for children and an area for all ages.

There are pleasant walks and seating with well maintained flower beds and new street lighting for evenings.

Thanks to all who have helped - including CCF, FCT and the Police Community Fund.
