I read your front page headline regarding Gillian Leah being fined £50 and I am amazed that there appears to have been very little feedback in your paper except for the comment by Dave Wood in tonight’s Courier.
I am absolutely appalled by how this lady has been treated by the authorities and I would like to offer my services free of charge to try clear Gillian’s fine. I fully appreciate that she has sought legal advice, and spoken to her local councillor with no success.
I am a self employed investigator with 32 years Police Service and I am sure that the authorities are fully aware of the rules of evidence in bringing any prosecutions.
The article is quite clear in that Mrs Leah has never smoked and there is no reason to disbelieve her.
She also mentions seeking a medical examination which on the face of it would have been a total waste of time and money as it would have proved nothing.
I think I know the two litter wardens in question parked at Hipperholme and I must admit I have never seen them leaving their vehicle which begs the question as to what has been witnessed on a very busy section of road. I recently took on the authorities over an alleged offence involving a traffic camera of ‘Failing to comply with a traffic light’ in Bradford which was headlined in the Bradford T&A on the 10th May 2011.
I took the matter to Crown Court where the prosecution offered no evidence. My local M.P. is currently looking at the Freedom of Information Act in respect of this matter on my behalf.
I am therefore prepared to try assist Mrs Leah, and she can contact me in the first instance on my email address email@example.com
