In the past Smeaton and Stephenson smartened our lives up by enabling us to connect with the outside world via the canal and railway.
This brought millions in trade to the Calder Valley.
Today--we stand on the cusp of a new highway developement in the form of superfast broadband.
This will cost money to access but will--as reported, bring millions of pounds of buisness our way.
This is just as important as the new and upcoming town-centre regeneration.
Therefore I urge Calderdale Council to grasp the mettle-not the nettle - and push our area forward into the future.
