Letter: Be considerate when parking

I recently read the article written by Blaise Trapp re parking, which prompted me to write this letter.

I can sympathise and fully understand the frustration of the people concerned as I myself have issues with people obstructing my driveway (but would never object to paramedics or emergency services doing so).

I live near two schools and have problems every time parents come to collect their children when school finishes at the end of the day.

My gates have polite notices on them asking people not to park in front of them but people sometimes do this or park so close up to either side of the gates or directly opposite on the other side of road which makes it very difficult to get out sometimes and would be virtually impossible in an emergency.

Why are people so inconsiderate?

I have approached Calderdale Council previously and again quite recently but have not had a satisfactory solution offered.
