How disturbing that Councillor Colin Raistrick feels that his reasons for voting in favour of Calderdale Council’s Local Plan are justified.
To quote his own slogan - ‘People not Politics’ - it seems that he has totally ignored the interests and opinions of the very people he is supposed to represent.
He makes no mention of the problems which would be caused with the lack of infrastructure including the provision of roads, schools and doctors’ surgeries. All of which are vital to enable a community to thrive.
He suggests that we should all travel on the motorway. What nonsense.
People need to be able to use the roads already in existence to go to and from particular local areas. We all know the ensuing chaos when there are accidents on the M62 and alternative routes have to be found.
Interestingly, not that long ago, Councillor Raistrick objected to a development which was ultimately passed by the planning inspector and which just happened to be close to where he lives.
