Support for more choices on menus

I am writing in reply to Mr Haigh’s letter “More choice on menus” (Your say, May 31). Unfortunately I also have Coeliac Disease, having been diagnosed six years ago and know only too well how difficult it can be eating out, on holidays etc.

I agree with Mr Haigh. Vegetarians choose to be so, Coeliacs do not and therefore have to follow a strict gluten-free diet.

I recently wrote to BBC Masterchef after a contestant cooked a vegetarian meal and asked why they never cook a gluten-free one. So far I have not had a reply.

I have been given the recipe for a gluten-free Yorkshire Pudding, which is just as nice as a ‘normal’ one.
