Support people wishing to remain in their homes

“SURGING demand for beds means 50 extra nursing home jobs” (Courier, March 31).

Not everyone’s cup of tea, certainly not mine. I value my independence too much, not told time to go to bed and time to get up.

More support should be given to those wishing to remain in their own homes, among family and friends, is by far the best option and there is always respite care.

Those on the waiting list requiring nursing home care, given the long waiting list for places and the building is not built yet, are not sure of getting a place.
