We can help with history

I have been reading with interest the ideas about the future of the Piece Hall.

From the late 19th century untill 1975 it was a wholesale fish, fruit, vegetable, and frozen food market supplying Halifax and the West Riding with goods.

In 1975 those still trading moved up to premises on Victoria Road.

The owners of these depots then are mostly still alive, and I have contacted a few and they would like all to contribute any of their own and others “Historical Info” and memories to perhaps a museum section of any future development.

Maybe our offer will add a bit of weight to your plans!

If the scheme gets off the ground. we would be glad to help.
