How fantastic to read in the Special Features Hebden Bridge Times that Pam Rowlinson of Mytholmroyd had organised and presented a spectacular Nigerian Evening in aid of church funds for St Michael’s Church, followed by an African-themed Harvest Service on the Sunday bringing in people from as far away as London. In my opinion extraordinary events are just what Mytholmroyd needs to raise the profile of the area and bring in new tourist interest. Cragg Vale, Scout Rocks, Redacre Woodlands, the canal, the rivers and streams are all such beautiful places for visitors to chill out and relax but the majority population have no idea of their existence. Mytholmroyd needs the extraordinary events such as Pam has presented to advertise and create a greater interest in the area and I firmly believe this would be beneficial for everyone. Very well done Pam.
