Halifax boxer Kaymn signs off with thrilling win before joining pro ranks
Halifax Boxing Club star Kaymn Glasgow ended his amateur career on a high with an outstanding performance and victory at the Firth Park ABC Show.
Glasgow has enjoyed a successful season in the senior amateur ranks, but is now set to turn professional with the Brighouse Boxing Club where he will work with former pro star and Central Area champion Jimmy First.
In his last outing for the Halifax club he was up against home fighter Denzil Kidby at the Southey Green Social Club, Sheffield and it was billed as a 50/50 contest with both boxers in form and capable.
Kidby had hometown support to call on, but Glasgow also had plenty of supporters with him on his travel to South Yorkshire and they made their presence felt, roaring their man on.

It made for a great atmosphere and the fight did not let the fans down as the Halifax boxer took as much as he gave in a fantastic bout.
Glasgow was fast from the start and finished even stronger and his opponent, even with the home support, could not cope with Kaymn’s relentless attack.
Kidby stuck to his task, however, and the fight went the distance with Glasgow getting the verdict on a split decision.
The crowd were treated to one of the fights of the year with the referee and judges saying it was a brilliant contest that made the show a roaring success.

Pull-outs had meant the fight was upped in the order, leaving coach Mick Rowe having to hastily rush to get his boxer ready, but the task was successfully achieved and Glasgow had another to win to add to his successes in the last year.
This season he has been a NAC Yorkshire Championships finalist in the 70 to 75kg weight category, a development finalist and won nine bouts, all in tough contests.
Kaymn will now become the 15th amateur to turn pro from the Halifax club ranks.
