The hunt is on to find Calderdale’s sporting heroes.

The Courier is staging the third Calderdale Sports awards for 2011 in association with Calderdale Council and NHS Calderdale.

After the massive success of the two previous awards evenings, we have decided that the top performing sport stars of the last twelve months should be recognised.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for nominations from throughout Calderdale to find individuals and teams for the 17 categories.

Hosted again by top comedian and former rugby-league player Lea Roberts and professional MC Pete Emmett, the ceremony will be held at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax on Monday June 13th , starting at 7.30pm. Please note, this is the new date for the awards night and differs from the date published in the digital magazine on the right.

Last year saw over 700 people pile into the threatre to see the winners collect awards, with the same number expected this time around.

Junior or senior, male or female, team or individual, we want to hear your suggestions, so see the centre pages for details of how to nominate.
