Aire-Wharfe League: Follifoot win takes Otley above Beckwithshaw

Otley thrashed Follifoot by 165 runs to move top of Division One, three points ahead of Beckwithshaw, who dropped points away at Kirkstall.

Half centuries from James Pickering (56), Dave Hester (51) and James Davies (63) helped Otley to 246 all out.

Follifoot, who were controversially docked all their points two weeks ago, could only manage 81 all out in return to give Otley maximum points.

Beckwithshaw dropped points despite a more than impressive eight-wicket victory over Kirkstall. The Leeds side were restricted to 179-9 before Stuart Hudson’s Beckwithshaw roared back with 180-2 to gain a less favourable victory.

Division One’s leading pair face each other this Saturday with both vying to take a lead into the second half of the season.

Meanwhile, a Ryan Bradshaw century helped Bilton move up to third with a 171-run victory over Steeton.

The hosts set Steeton a target of 304-8 to win after Bradshaw smacked 105 runs at number four. Steeton were then bowled out for 133 with five wickets from Richard Spittlehouse (5-13).

Collingham beat mid-table rivals Rawdon 76 runs to win at home. Collingham’s Sam Anderson hit 68 for the hosts as they recorded 176 all out. Andrew Doidge took six wickets for Rawdon, whilst Toby Jacklin also took six wickets for Collingham as they limited Rawdon to just 100.

Knaresborough were grateful to overseas star Eban Martin as they recorded a narrow one-wicket victory over Division Two bottom side Green Lane. Neil Marshall took four wickets as Lane posted 182. Martin withstood the wickets tumbling around him as he scored an unbeaten 87 to clinch a tense win.

Bardsey were beaten by 31 runs against Menston in Division Three despite Ed Clayton’s 49 and two wickets.
