Aire-Wharfe League: Points system harms Beckwithshaw title chances again
‘Shaw fell foul of the points system again with a rampaging bowling performance that bowled the Leeds side out for just 101. Ishi Hussain (3-9), Alex Lilley (2-22) and Mark McEnearney (3-23) caused chaos with the new ball as they did not let the Leeds batsmen settle.
Martin Kellaway scored almost half of the home side’s score with 48.

Hide AdIn reply, Miles Buller ensured there was little panic with a composed 53 not out to seal a six-wicket win. The strong bowling performance meant Shaw could only collect 15 points, as opposed to Otley’s 18-point haul from their win over Rawdon.
Vic Craven enabled Bilton to prevail against Ilkley (199), with a four-wicket haul and 33 runs.
The victors also indebted to a century stand between Paul Cannings (66no) and David Hardcastle (38) after captain Craven (33) had laid the foundations with Ryan Bradshaw in an opening partnership of 57.
Jack Harrison (81) and Toby Jacklin (76) put on 161 as Collingham raced to 258-5, with Guiseley stuck at 219-9 in reply, with Jacklin taking 3-43.

Hide AdFollifoot finally escaped the bottom of the table after rooting Burley in their victory pursuit.
Burley lost their last five wickets for 16 runs as they succumbed by 17 runs, collapsing to 205. James Riley (52) and Tom Clayton (53no) were in the runs for Foot’ as they made 222-8.
Burley looked on course to dent Follifoot’s survival hopes and top the total, but Sam Gascoyne (3-41) and Alex Fox (4-32) had other ideas.
Meanwhile, Kirkstall opened with a handsome 301-7 before dismissing Steeton were dismissed for 250 in reply.

Hide AdIn Division Two, Sam Wilson (5-11) and David Amos (4-46) wreaked havoc as high-flying Pool skittled Knaresborough for just 64.
Sam Ryan (12) and Neil Marshall (13no) were the only Boro batsmen to make double figures in a miserable afternoon for the Aspin Laners.
Marshall and Tom Metcalfe both picked up a wicket but Pool raced to the target inside 11 overs.
Bardsey just came up short in their victory hunt at home to Horsforth Hall Park, with their last wicket falling on the final ball of the game – with four runs still needed.

Hide AdSameer Manjrekar came close to being Bardsey’s hero after rescuing his side from a perilous 130-8 with 67.
However, his wicket left Bardsey with too much to do despite last man J Hughes’ defiant 11 not out.
