Halifax progress to Nixon Trophy final

The Foster’s Halifax Cricket League and York Senior League have abandoned plans to re-arrange their two trophy semi-finals.

Two attempts to stage back-to-back Twenty/20 matches on the same afternoon - the latest at Goole Town CC on Sunday - have been thwarted by rain.

Both leagues have major finals this weekend, which would have provided the last opportunity to meet prior to the Nixon Trophy final the following Sunday.

The Halifax League’s event is the Crossley Shield second team final between Mytholmroyd and Warley at Old Crossleyans.

Halifax and York have agreed to progress in one competition each.

Andrew Pinfield’s Halifax team will now meet the Huddersfield Central League in the Nixon Trophy at a venue to be decided on Sunday week while York will take part in the West Yorkshire Area Knockout Cup final.
