Home draw for holders

Holders Jer Lane will have ground advantage against Thornton in the quarter-finals of the Halifax Parish Cup.

The former Bradford Central League pair are two of the strongest sides in the Foster’s Halifax League and last night’s draw means they will meet twice in seven days at Lane.

The cup tie is on Sunday, June 15 and the pair meet in the Premier Division on the following Saturday.

Last year’s beaten finalists Booth are away to Copley and if last Saturday’s league clash is anything to go by it should be an excellent contest.

Booth came out on top by four runs with the visitors’ Chris Shannon (60 and four for 29) and Copley’s James Clarke (82 and four for 44) the dominant figures.

Copley will host this year’s final, using their excellent new clubhouse, on Sunday, August 3.

Warley will be looking to repeat their opening day league win when they return to Blackley. An unbeaten century from Nolan Bottomley helped them to success on that occasion.
