Halifax RLFC has restructured its board of directors in a bid to advance the club.
Current directors Tony Abbott and Ian Croad are to take executive roles as joint Chief Executive Officer.
Ian Croad will oversee operations and all rugby related matters within the club, and Tony Abbott will concentrate on office and administration functions as well as overseeing the development of Fax’s marketing department.
Aidan Jewitt, who is an experienced figure in commercial banking and finance, joins the club in a non-executive capacity as finance director and is tasked with strengthening the ‘ financial planning and control, as well as opening up the Championship contenders to new sponsorship opportunities.
Chairman Micheal Steele and board member Mike Riley will stay on the Halifax board in non executive roles also.
Mr Steele will continue to be the club’s representative on the RFL council, where more announcements regarding the future structure of the game are soon due to be unveiled.
He said: “2014 will be a vital season for the club.
“The finishing position in the last year of the current structure will determine where we start in the new arrangements.
“We need to gear up throughout the club to ensure that no opportunity to advance is missed.”
Principal sponsors Reactiv Group - headed by Tony Abbott - have recently agreed to make a further sizeable investment into the club, enabling it to step up its on-field and off-field operations without causing financial strain or worry.
The 2012 Northern Rail Cup winners are viewed as one of the favourites in the Championship to take advantage of the proposed re-introduction of promotion and relegation.
The club said it was keen to put the right foundations in place to secure long-term success.
