HALIFAX narrowly failed to break their pre-season duck against Super League side Hull KR on Sunday afternoon, losing 26-24 to a last-play touchdown from winger Liam Colbon.
Matt Calland's side, who have already lost 50-8 at Bradford and 11-4 at Batley as they countdown to the kick off of the Northern Rail Cup in just under a fortnight's time, had fought back from 20-12 down to lead 24-20 with tries from Sam Barlow and Paul White, both converted by Danny Jones.
Earlier, Fax had levelled at 12-12 at the break, with White's first try plus further touchdowns from Sean Penkywicz and Lee Paterson cancelling out an early 12-0 deficit.
Centre Kris Welham grabbed a hat trick for Rovers, who fielded a clutch of young talent but included nine members of Justin Morgan's Super League squad.
