THE semi-finals of the Halifax League Sunday Section’s Rod Warhurst Cup will see Triangle host Sowerby St Peters and Booth have ground advantage against Bradshaw on Sunday, July 1.
The last eight matches on Sunday were washed out, resulting in bowl-offs, and last year’s finalists Lightcliffe and Elland both bowed out.
Five players from each of the teams had two shots each at the wickets. Lightcliffe lost 2-0 to Sowerby St Peters and Elland went down 3-1 to Booth.
In the other contests, Triangle beat Northowram Fields 2-1 and Bradshaw accounted for Warley by the same score to complete a last four line-up of clubs who all play their first and second team cricket in the Halifax League.
Ties had to be resolved on the first date and Sunday Section assistant fixture secretary Simon Finch said a few clubs had told him they thought it was an unfair way to decide the last four, even some from among the teams that had progressed.
