Paul Quinn’s side, who had fought out a goalless draw with North Premier Division One leaders Glossop North End on Saturday, scored twice in four minutes during the first half.

James Pollard’s free-kick eluded everyone and went straight in on 32 minutes.

Ryan Hall beat a defender and rounded the ‘keeper to make it 2-0 shortly after.

However, Farsley replied through Aiden Savory midway through the second half and that meant Town were kept up to their work to the final whistle.

Another three points moved Brighouse level with fourth-placed Spennymoor Town.

Quinn’s men have two away games next - at lowly Harrogate Railway Athletic in the league on Saturday and away to Warrington in the cup seven days later.
