Brighouse Town fell short in their attempt to pick up three points when they lost 3-2 at home to Bamber Bridge in a keenly-contested Evo-Stik NPL Division One North clash
Town were always behind in the game against a decent Bridge side. However, it could have been worse as ‘keeper Jordan Porter saved a first half penalty from Curtis Thompson.
It was Thompson who gave the visitors a seventh minute lead, and he doubled the advantage just after the half hour.
Prolific striker Tom Matthews came on for Leon Henry and Town struck back just ahead of the break when Ryan Hall’s shot was deflected in by Tyrone Gay.
Town were handed a boost when Porter saved Thompson’s spot kick to keep his side in the game.
Bridge restored their two goal advantage through Alistair Waddecar in the 75th minute and it was deep into stoppage time when Hall netted Town’s second.
