Burrow still part of my plans, says Heath

Town boss Billy Heath insists Jordan Burrow is still part of his plans despite not including him in Saturday's matchday squad against Bradford Park Avenue.

Burrow was Halifax’s top-scorer last season with 18 goals but has yet to score in just eight appearances this season, six as a substitute.

But when asked whether Burrow was part of his plans, Heath replied: “Of course he is.

“Jordan’s not been on the bench on Saturday, I didn’t think it was viable to put two centre-forwards on the bench.

“We needed a wide player on the bench as well as what we had.

“We’ve said all along it’s a squad game. Jordan will be very disappointed but he’s got to work hard and try to get back in.”

Midfielder David Lynch made his debut on Saturday after joining from Altrincham.

Asked whether that signing meant any players may be heading out of the club, Heath, who also revealed Matty Brown will return to training this week after injury, said: “We’ll see. There might be someone else coming in, there might be one or two going out.

“We’ll have a look at things like we always do.

“I’ve said all along I didn’t think the squad was big enough at the start of the season, with Macca (Scott McManus) and Browny (Matty Brown) long-term injuries.

“But now we’re getting numbers in the last thing I want to do is start pushing people out, but that may come, that may not.”
