Ealandians will be hoping to emulate their success of last season when they take on Grangefield OB in the Yorkshire Amateur League Terry Marflitt Trophy final at Throstle Nest, home of Farsley AFC. on Wednesday (7.30).
The 80th final is expected to be a classic between clubs lying second and third respectively in Senior A with Ealandians six points behind Grangefield with two games in hand.
This will be Grangefield’s first ever final but for Ealandians the stage presents no fears as they are not only the current holders but also holders of the Yorkshire Old Boys’ Shield.
Ealandians, who are based at Elland C&BC, are a long established Yorkshire Amateur League club with four Senior A championships to their name together with four victories in the Shield and the two successes in the Marflitt Trophy.
There is little doubt that Grangefield have had the more difficult journey to the final, including victories over three Senior A sides.
Ealandians had a big scare against Batelians where they were 3-0 down with 25 minutes left, but managed to come back to win 4-3.
