It is The Shaymen’s second consecutive trip to the south coast after their 1-0 defeat at Torquay last Saturday.

Striker Devante Rodney is a doubt for the Eastleigh match due to a hamstring injury, but boss Pete Wild will welcome back Jeff King after serving a two-game suspension.

Town drew 1-1 with Eastleigh at The Shay earlier this season, when Tobi Sho-Silva’s opener was cancelled out by defender Reda Johnson.

Jack McKnight (hamstring) and Alex Wynter (toe) are both out for a month for Ben Strevens’ side, who have won just once in their last seven games and are only two points above the relegation zone.

Strevens guided The Spitfires to seventh in the table last season before losing to Salford in the play-off semi-finals.

But it has been a much tougher campaign this time round, with only three teams scoring fewer goals than Eastleigh in the division. Striker Scott Rendell is their top-scorer with 11 goals.

The Shaymen are without a goal in nearly four hours, but only top two Barrow and Harrogate have won more games than them all season in the fifth tier.

Halifax will climb back up into third place in the National League if they better Boreham Wood’s result against Hartlepool, but would be overtaken by Yeovil and Dover if they both better Town’s result.
