Clubs have been told that £11m in funding to cover costs from January to March will be in the form of loans and not grants, as was the case for the first block of funding at the start of the campaign.

This has been met with strong resistence by the majority of clubs, although BBC Sport editor Dan Roan has reported this morning (Wednesday) that the Government is set to announce long-term, low interest loans will be available for clubs in the National League, and National League North and South, with grant supprt also considered for clubs in those leagues on a case-by-case basis.

Whether this will be enough to salvage the situation remains to be seen.

It has also been reported that the National League North and South seaons, which have both been paused for a fortnight, will continue as normal from Saturday, February 6.

National League North and South have both paused their seasons for two weeks, but the National League is continuing for now.
