Charlie’s mum Lucy Littley is hoping to raise £11,000 to put towards the cost of a new all terrain powered wheelchair to give Charlie, 11, who has cerebral palsy, more independence.

Wild said: “I’ve met him once at a game but I’ve read his story.

“We normally go to the hospital and donate some presents but obviously we can’t do that this year so as players and staff, we thought it was appropriate that we donated our money to Charlie.

Luke Summerfield got man-of-the-match on Saturday and donated his £200 to Charlie’s pot as well.

“That’s as important to me as anything else. I have a young child and I can’t imagine what his family are going through, so any help we can give to that cause we will do.

“We’re desperate as a club, as a team and as a staff, to help Charlie out as much as possible.”
