The Shaymen lost 2-1 at Clitheroe on Tuesday night, with Matty Stenson’s early goal cancelled out by two from substitute Kielen Adams.

Town boss Pete Wild says wing-back Dom Tear will miss the game at Guiseley with a thigh problem, the same injury that fellow wing-back Danny Williams has picked up.

“Dom missed out (at Clitheroe) with a little niggle, and maybe Danny Williams might have pulled his quad again, but we’ll assess him.

“Dom has pulled his quad as well so probably won’t be fit for Guiseley, but he’ll be back for the start of training next week.”

Wild is happy with how pre-season training is progressing, a week-and-a-half into their return.

He said: “I’m pleased. As you’ve seen, some will need a bit more than others, that’s fine.

“We’ve had six days on the training ground so we just need to keep going. It’s still early days.

“We’ll make sure we get into the legs what we need to and keep moving forward, which we will for the rest of the week.”

Wild says he is looking to add three more players to his squad, which are likely to include a back-up goalkeeper and a centre-back.

“We’d like to add to the squad but we’ll take our time, we’ll get things right.

“We’ve recruited some excellent players and we just now need to build on top of that.”

Wild fielded four trialists at Clitheroe - a goalkeeper, a central midfielder, a right wing-back and a striker - and said all will be involved again at Guiseley.

“I need to reflect, look at the video,” he said of their performances.

“The trialists who played at Clitheroe will all play on Saturday again, along with the youth team lads.

“We’ll mix the sides up for Saturday but it’ll be the same process of two elevens.”

Two players who won’t be involved are defenders Matty Brown and Jacob Hanson, neither of whom featured on Tuesday night.

“They’re not part of my plans, they’ve been told the situation and we move forward with the people who want to do things my way,” said Wild.

When asked if the duo were any closer to leaving the club, Wild said: “Not at the moment. There’s a couple of things spinning, but we’ll have to see if they materialise or not.”
