Hyde’s move to The Shay on a two-year deal was announced last week, and Hemingway has no doubts that the forward will be a big asset to Pete Wild’s side.

When asked what Halifax fans can expect from Hyde?, Hemingway said: “In short, goals. Hyde scored over 30 goals for Woking in the last two seasons at National League South and then National League level after the Cards’ promotion in 2018/19.

“He can also link play, and provides a focal point up top.

“He was one of Woking’s biggest assets no doubt. Not just in terms of goals but also leadership, having played a lot of his football in League Two.

“His biggest strength is his goal threat, but also his strength and experience. And though he had some dry patches at Woking in terms of goals, he always worked tirelessly to press and close down the opposition.”

Hemingway also believes Hyde is capable of playing at a higher level than the National League.

“Yes he could,” he said, “indeed he already has, most notably with Barnet and York where he had good goal returns.

“This move for him is probably about joining a club that looks likeliest to get promoted to League Two, so that he can have one shot at the division.”
