FC Halifax Town: “A Football League player playing at this level” says Wild on new striker

FC Halifax Town boss Pete Wild has described new striker Jake Hyde as “a Football League player” playing in the National League.

Hyde was announced today (Friday) as The Shaymen’s first signing of the summer on a two-year contract, having netted 16 league goals for Woking in the National League last season.

Speaking to the FC Halifax Town website, Wild said: “Jake is a Football League player playing at this level.

“He had an excellent season with Woking FC last year.

“He fits my recruitment strategy in terms of experience and character!

“I have fended off many clubs much bigger than ourselves to get him to the club.

“He’s excited by the project here and is fully prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to drive this club forward.

“In my opinion this is a real statement of intent by the football club.

“I’d like to thank the chairman for his full support in bringing JAke to FCHT.”
