FC Halifax Town: Harvey happy to take a point at Torquay

Harvey said: “I would certainly take that. They (Torquay) are unbeaten in their last six games– they’ve had some terrific results. Against a full time side, I think we put together a good performance and I’m delighted with that and I thought they looked a decent side”

Town could have snatched all three points if Jordan Burrow had converted a chance just before half-time, but Harvey believed that a draw was a fair reflection of the game.

“I think Jordan Burrow had a great chance just before half-time and if he put that away it would have put in a great position – but, at the end of the day, it was tough game and overall I think a draw was a fair result.”

The Town boss also reserved few special words for his opposite number, Gulls’ manager Kevin Nicholson, who also served under him as a player at Forest Green Rovers and admitted he wasn’t surprised to see him pursue a career in management.

“Kevin was always that way inclined, he likes his football, so it doesn’t surprise me that he has ended up as a manager.” Harvey said.

Harvey also said the second leg of the FA Trophy was now firmly on his mind, with a trip to Wembley awaiting Town if they get past Nantwich Town.

He added: “We’ve had momentum for a long time now, another good result tonight and it’s on to the next game. The games have been coming thick and fast and that’s what it’s like at the moment. We’ve got Nantwich next Saturday and we’ve have a two-goal lead and we’ve got make sure that we don’t make any mistakes and get through to Wembley.”
