The Shaymen now sit just one point and one place above the relegation zone in the Conference after a disappointing display at Holker Street.

Goals from Jordan Williams, Andy Cook and Jason Walker put Barrow 3-0 up before Connor Hughes’ goal, but substitute Ben Tomlinson added a fourth in stoppage time for the hosts.

Harvey said: “It was pretty awful really. I was disappointed with most of it, it wasn’t a good performance.

“We just need to put this one to bed. There’s not really a lot I want to say about it.

“It was a tough ask with the two games over the weekend but we didn’t play at all today, our passing was shocking.

“I’m disappointed.”

Harvey felt there were outside factors that played a part in the result, but admitted his team’s poor performance couldn’t be excused.

“We played Saturday, then we came here and we had a couple of our regular players out,” he said.

“Everybody’s tired, under pressure, jaded. But it just didn’t go for us today.

“It’s a tough place to come to and it didn’t happen for us. There’s not a lot you can say really. I’m just disappointed with the whole performance.

“Not necessarily the effort, but there were too many bad decisions and things just didn’t go for us.”

Sam Walker left Holker Street on crutches as a precautionary measure after suffering a suspected knee ligament problem in the defeat.

“It went from bad to worse,” said Harvey. “Sam’s gone off and we’ve had to change formation.

“Nothing went for us today but we’ll live to fight another day.

“We’ll pick ourselves up and get ready for Dover.

“We’ll have a chance to recover for that.”

Harvey was not happy with his team’s defending for Barrow’s second goal soon after the restart.

“We conceded again straight away from a cross that we’ve let come in - we did that too easily,” he said.

“It looked like the fella was climbing all over the back of Hamza and the referee has allowed it, but you just have to get on with it.”

Harvey said the main positive was the performance of defenders Kevin Roberts and Hamza Bencherif, but felt overall The Shaymen were not up to scratch.

“All over the pitch we weren’t good enough,” he added. “We didn’t create enough, didn’t play enough, didn’t keep possession for long enough, all over the park it was just a poor one.

“Connor’s goal was too little too late, which sums it up.

“There were a couple of good performances, I thought Kevin Roberts and Hamza battled away and did a good job.

“They played to a level you’d be happy with. But the boys are tired after Saturday and it just didn’t happen for us.”
