Town boss Billy Heath is expecting another close game when Halifax and Eastleigh go head-to-head for a place in the FA Cup third round on Tuesday (7.45pm).

The two teams drew 3-3 at Eastleigh eight days ago, and will battle it out for the chance to travel to Brentford in round three.

Eastleigh have lost both games since playing Halifax - 3-1 at Gosport Borough in the Hampshire Senior Cup and 2-0 to Harlow Town in the FA Trophy.

Heath said: “They are a big, powerful side and their physicality helped them get back into the game the other week.”

“Both teams gave away poor goals - I think all six were avoidable.

“Hopefully we can tighten up on that score, but I think it will be a tight game.

“They’re evolving under Martin.

“He’d just come into the job before the first game and only trained with them for two days.

“He made a couple of changes to the team and he may make a few more for Tuesday.

“But there’s no point in trying to pre-empt what they’re going to do, we have to focus on ourselves.

“I don’t think the disappointment’s lingered from that game.

“We’ve not looked back and lingered about it.”
