The National League campaign has been suspended until at least April 3 due to the Coronavirus outbreak but is expected to be postponed further in line with the Premier League and EFL.

The Football Association are understood to have held a conference call on Monday to review the current situation, while the National League and the FA were expected to hold talks today (Tuesday) to decide how to proceed with the campaign.

"Of course this is a difficult time for the football club and its employees as it is for everyone," said Bosomworth.

"We’re steering the ship through choppy waters and we’ll continue to run the club the best way we can.

"The National League has been in touch and we’ve submitted all the information that was required from a financial and contractual perspective. We were also asked our thoughts on the completion of the season, which of course as long as the integrity of the competition is not in question, we’d want to do, for the club, the supporters and the team.

"Our understanding is that a series of meetings have taken place and are taking place today (Tuesday). The outcomes of those meetings will then give us more clarity I’m sure."

Bosomworth says work has still been going on behind-the-scenes during the enforced break.

"The small team at the club have been great and Pete (Wild) and his team have been keeping the lads in shape in numerous ways, ready for when we get started again.

"I want to mention our sponsors as well who have been brilliant through these testing times, some who have already agreed to renew their deals for next season despite what they're also going through in their own businesses - our sincere gratitude is extended to all of them.

"I would like to wish all our supporters and their families well and we’re on the end of the phone if you need us."
