FC Halifax Town: Left-back Senior signs up at The Shay

FC Halifax Town have announced the signing of left-back Jack Senior.

The 23-year-old Halifax born defender, who can also operate as a wing-back, started his career at Huddersfield Town aged 10, signing his first professional contract with the Terriers in 2015. He helped their under-21s to the Northern Division title, as well as the Professional Development League 2 crown in 2015/16.

Senior made his senior breakthrough at Luton Town, making Football League debut in January 2017 and going on to make ten consecutive starts in League Two.

A foot injury limited his subsequent games and he ended his first season at Kenilworth Road with 16 appearances under his belt, as well as an inclusion in the EFL Trophy’s team of the tournament as Luton reached the semi-finals.

Despite a promising start to life with the Hatters, Senior found his chances in the first team limited during the 2017/18 season, making just five appearances – all of them in the Checkatrade Trophy.

In February 2019 he joined Harrogate Town on loan, making five appearances, before being released by Luton.

Last summmer he spent time on trial with League Two Grimsby Town before joining Gloucester City in November.
