FC Halifax Town: Midfielder Kosylo joins Town from Nantwich

FC Halifax Town have signed midfielder Matty Kosylo from Nantwich for an undisclosed fee.

Kosylo impressed against Halifax in both legs of last season’s FA Trophy semi-final, scoring for Nantwich in the first-leg.

The 23-year-old scored 13 goals last season and was named as the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s Young Player of the Season.

He joined Nantwich from Droylsden in October 2014, having started the 2014/15 campaign with Hyde.

He was released by Stockport in May 2011 and joined Salford City in August that year.

He has also played for Vauxhall Motors and Hurst Cross.

Nantwich chairman Tony Davison said: “We are sorry to see Matty leave but he made it clear to me at the end of last season that he wanted to play at a higher level.

“Matty clearly impressed FC Halifax in our two legged FA Trophy semi-final tie and they came calling in recent days.

“I have been delighted with his contribution to Nantwich Town over the past two years.

“This is in part down to the excellent work done by Phil Parkinson and his team, and we have developed great young players like Matty, Jon Moran and Elliot Osbourne who have all now stepped up to a higher level.

“We wish Matty well for the future at FC Halifax Town.”
