FC Halifax Town: New manager could be in place next week, says Bosomworth

Town chairman David Bosomworth says interviews are ongoing with managerial candidates and hopes the new boss will be in place next week.

Caretaker-manager Neil Young will take training tonight (Thursday) and will be in charge for Saturday’s home clash with Ebbsfleet.

It is unclear whether he will remain at the helm for Tuesday night’s game with Hartlepool at The Shay.

“We have a couple more to see,” said Bosomworth. “It’s progressing well but we’ve seen some good candidates.

“Quite a few of them could do the job but we’re trying to see who will fit in with the type of job we have going forward.

“We want to appoint someone as soon as possible. We’re looking at all sorts of candidates but we want the person that ticks the most boxes.”

The Town chairman said the club had received nearly 100 applications and have interviewed “nine or 10”, some of whom are currently in a job and some who aren’t.

Bosomworth also said he “would like to think” the appointment will be longer-term than until the end of the season.
