Adult season tickets will go up in price from £199 to £299, which works out at £13 a game, but season tickets for children aged between 12 and 17 will stay at £75, which works out at £3.26 a game.
Defending the increase in price, the club said there wasn’t enough of a take up of last year’s season ticket offer to warrant maintaining the £199 price, and was “a risk we cannot afford to take again”.
The club will be offering three free season tickets for children under 12 with every adult season ticket purchased, while on the day prices will remain the same, which are £20 for adults, £17 for concessions, £9 for 12-17 year olds, £5 for under 12s and £3 for under 7s.
The club said: “These are certainly unprecedented times, and while we continue to hope the current 2019/20 season isn’t over yet, we must turn our attention towards the next campaign.
“We’re doing everything we can to steer the football club through very choppy waters and we need to keep going as best we can. We understand a resolution to our 2019/20 season involving play-off matches could potentially delay the start of the 2020/21 campaign – we’re sure the landscape will become clearer over the coming weeks.
“Despite all the uncertainty around, we have still decided the best course of action is that our 2020/21 season ticket will go on sale online from 17 May. When we are in partial lockdown and with people suffering with the Covid virus, there is never going to be a great time to make this announcement.
“We’re doing this now to allow those who wish to pay through the instalment plan, every bit of notice and opportunity.
“You can watch the ‘Shaymen’ for the 2020/21 campaign for £299 (this equates to £13 per game) for all seniors 18 and over. This means you can miss 8 games out of a potential 23 and the season ticket is still great value and a cost-effective option.
“Unfortunately, the sales level for last season’s £199 ticket was not as successful as we had hoped for. We can understand partly the reasons but the demand, even at just over £8 per game wasn’t deemed value enough to attract more regular fans to commit up front.
“Simply, it was not financially viable for the football club and a risk we cannot afford to take again.
“This season’s increase is necessary to enable us to continue to have a competitive playing budget whilst endeavouring to’ live within our means’. Let’s also say our costs are increasing all the time over a wide range of expense areas. We appreciate that the financial back-drop has changed for everyone and we’ll all be facing our own personal challenges.
“However we have to protect the interests of your football club and continue to run the club with longevity in mind.
“Please do your best to support us and help the club push forward and build on what has been a hugely successful season so far, however it ends. Let’s be fair, your team has been in top spot this season, the top three for quite some time and is finishing sixth, in the now shortened regular season. A great achievement and great credit to Pete Wild and the boys!
“To assist you in purchasing a season ticket we’ll now offer you five months to pay, meaning you can spread the cost until the end of September with £60 per month instalments. Please, please buy outright if you can, but for those where a season ticket is a stretch, we are determined to try and help.
“To take advantage of the instalment plan you’ll have to pay your first payment by the 7 June. (Please select May instalment first). For those wishing to pay in full you can do this until the end of July (this may-be pushed back depending on the start of the 20/21 schedule.)
“For our younger supporters aged 12-17, your season ticket will stay the same price at £75, making the price per game £3.26.
“Children Under 12 – our commitment in making our football affordable for families continues. With all senior season tickets, we’ll be offering up to three kids’ FREE season tickets per paying senior. So please order all children’s tickets with your senior ticket before the 31 July 20. If you don’t order a child’s season ticket you’ll have to pay per game on the turnstile. Please only order what you need.
“Despite increased costs, our ‘pay on the day’ prices will remain the same.
“You’ll be able to purchase all tickets/instalments from the online shop www.fchtshop.com – as and when and if things change we’ll have our usual season ticket mornings/evenings.
“Please don’t forget, as a season ticket holder you’ll always get priority access to purchase any other ticketed games subject to availability.
“Season ticket collection will be confirmed during pre-season. We’ll keep you updated on deadlines for purchasing as and when we have more information from the National League.
“Please show your commitment in buying a season ticket.”
