It will be a major blow to Town, with Rodney having scored five goals in eight league games in his second loan spell from Salford.

But, speaking on the club’s website, Town boss Pete Wild said: “Devante Rodney is close to accepting terms with another club in readiness for the start of the 2020-21 season.

“As a consequence, regrettably he will not be returning to the Shaymen for the play-offs. We thank Devante for his contribution during his two loan spells with us and wish him well in his future career following departure from Salford City.

“Whilst not confirmed, we can only play with players registered on 16 March.”

Halifax are set to face Boreham Wood away on Saturday, July 18.
